Race Rules

IBSA Race Rules:  

          

  1. House Rules, Rule — All race participants must have a beverage in their hand at race start. (to avoid any challenges of race tampering)
  2. Classes
    • Modified — anything goes, with exceptions:
      • Machines must be sandbelt driven
      • All modifications must be carried “on-board”
  3. Courses
    • All races will be run on a 12″ (approximately) wide track
    • Course shall be fifty (50) feet in length
  4. Race Start
    • Eliminations — the Rules Committee shall define the number and structure of the races at the beginning of the event according to the number of competitors in each category 
    • Running starts — referred to the Research Department for further study
  5. No new entries are allowed after first round of races (by category) are complete
  6. Two (2) false starts and “You’re out!”
  7. No more than five (5) minutes are allowed between races for repairs, modifications, or any other changes–penalty is forfeiture of race
  8. Disputed races may be re-run at the discretion of the Rules Committee
  9. Awards shall be determined by the Rules Committee
  10. All decisions of the Rules Committee are Final!
  11. The rules committee can easily be bribed with alcohol.
